Energy advice
Get involved
If you would like to help people in your community access energy advice and support, improve their home's energy efficiency, and take action to reduce their environmental impact, we are offering free Energy Champion training.
For more details on what being an Energy Champion involves visit our 'Energy Champions' page.
The training session is open to everyone - whether you’re new to energy efficiency or already involved in retrofit. You’ll build practical knowledge, connect with others and join a growing network of local ‘Energy Champions’.
The training includes:
- A free lunch, hot drinks and snacks
- An introduction to the Community Energy Network, Energy at Home and the role of Energy Champions
- Expert energy advice from the Centre for Sustainable Energy, covering: identifying those in or at risk of fuel poverty; the health and environmental impact of inefficient homes; fuel debt; grants and funding; types of heating and how to use them; home retrofit; DIY and behavioural changes that can make homes more efficient.
- How to have great conversations about energy
- How to effectively signpost and make referrals
- A chance to get to know your fellow Energy Champions
- Next steps as Energy Champions
This free Energy Champion training is part of Energy at Home, a Community Energy Network project, and is delivered by Bath & West Community Energy and the Centre for Sustainable Energy.
If you're unsure about whether this training is right for you and you would like the chance to find out more, we have three Energy Champion briefing sessions available
