Free home energy advice, practical activities and opportunities to have your say are coming to Batheaston this autumn, helping residents explore ways to save energy, reduce bills and make their homes more comfortable.
Energy at Home, part of the Community Energy Network, is working with Batheaston Parish Council and Grow Batheaston to bring free advice and support to the local community.
Whether you’re looking for simple ways to save energy, struggling with energy bills or considering bigger improvements to your home, there’s something for everyone.
Come along to the Batheaston Home Energy Afternoon
Saturday 7 November, 2pm–4.30pm
Batheaston New Village Hall, School Lane
Join us for a free afternoon of practical advice, useful information and ideas to help make your home warmer and more energy efficient.
You’ll have the opportunity to speak to energy advisers and local organisations about everything from reducing bills and improving insulation to heat pumps, solar panels, financial support and making improvements to listed buildings.
There will also be information stalls, videos and a 'Cosy Homes Kit' featuring examples of low-cost insulation and draught-proofing materials.
New bite-sized talks
Three short introductory talks will take place during the afternoon:
- 2.30pm - Home energy retrofit: What improvements can you make and what help can you get?
- 3pm - Heat pumps: What do you need to know?
- 3.30pm - Getting started: Practical next steps you can take following the event.
You’ll also be able to book a free 10-minute advice session with a Home Energy Adviser on the day, or simply drop in and chat to the advisers and organisations attending.
The event is open to everyone, whether you own or rent your home. It’s free to attend and there’s no need to book.
